  • Head or heart?

    Head or heart?

Whom do you allow to rule?

A common question for which i have no definite answer. Most people I know dont. Maybe even you dont. I suppose the reason is that we never follow only the head or only the heart. Its generally a mix of both or the situation is such that we go with one of them. The heart. Hmm.. i have always wondered is it the "intuition" or the "impulse" or "emotions" they refer to when they talk about the "heart" ruling.I still dont know. What i do know is that there are a few people who go about saying that being impulsive is a quality of our ancestors and animals in a degrading manner. As usual, i disagree. How can one deem something like impulse as low? When you come to think of it, more often than not, a person's most important decision, however well thought of, is done on impulse and that impulse is covered with explanations.By the way, arent we born because of an impulsive action?;)(well, maybe not always..)I find it pretty sad that most people dont have guts to accept their impulsive action with pride. Trust me, life is far more fun when you are impulsive. Being impulsive does not mean u have to be foolhardy. You do have to apply your powers of forethought and figure when it is fine to be impulsive and when its not. Assuming, your brain konks out(mine is prone to)trust your intuition. Somehow or the other, life is beautiful. Have fun. Let loose:D and when you do, you would discover a whole new range of emotions making life all the more exciting and colorful.

But coming back to the initial question, when a person talks about the "heart" ruling what is being referred to? Impulse? Intuition? Emotion?or a combination of all three?

  • How did it all begin?

A question which has long been in my mind has yet not been answered. I must say its not like i havent tried.

How did language evolve? yes, i agree from sign language to pictures to symbols to alphabets etc My question is how is it that one person understands what the other person is telling. i mean if its an object, someone kept in a leader's position may have said the word and voila! it stuck on. Ofcourse we cant ignore the borrowing of words from other languages. But when it comes to emotions or basically intangible things how is it that early men and women understood what is being referred to?

    Thats the big question.

If there is a complex play of words or ambiguous statements,i understand how there are several chances of misunderstanding the statement. However how did it all start? Just nature's beauty? OR does science have an answer? a logical answer as it forever proclaims?

  • Friends?

You are a friend. You bitch behind my back about me and yet hesitate to tell me my faults at my face. You still call yourself a friend. Are you?

I believe a friend is one who tells you your faults at your face and helps you improve yourself not one who bitches behind your back. Its even worse when you deny it or act ignorant when i have heard it myself.tut tut. When are you going to grow up friends? What you can do both at my face and behind my back is make truthful compliments. Not praise or flatter but give credit which is rightly mine. A friend I believe is one with whom you feel comfortable and is comfortable with you. Not any acquaintance. Everyone I meet does not become a friend. A friend, isnt just someone you can crack your dumb jokes with but someone you can trust with your problems, your worries and your plans without worrying whether its going to be leaked to someone whom you dont trust. That, according to me is the basis of friendship.Trust. After trust, its the wavelength. As friends, two people, in my opinion, should be of somewhat similar wavelength. Else its difficult, not impossible, but difficult. The next thing, I'd say would be the interest in each other. Friendship, just like any other relationship is two way.A healthy friendship develops when the two of them are as interested in the other as the other is in them. Apart from these three, I dont see any other universally common requirements. The rest of it depends and differs according to the person.Like for me, I like people to be empathetic not sympathetic. Others like their friends to be spmpathetic to their situation. The rest of it doesnt matter. The rest develops over time.

Its difficult to find a true friend, harder still is to lose them.

Disagree? A true friend would know you and would be empathetic to your situation. Thats why its difficult to lose them. If you lose a "friend", trust me they never were your friend to lose a friend.Im talking from experience. I cant ever thank God for helping me find one good true friend with whom i could fight, laugh, cry, fume, go nuts and still be sure, iv got someone to lean back on.Thank You God.

Wishing You too find your true friend,

  • Clean Green.. Yeah Right!!

Thanks to Discovery's Travel and Living, I was able to revisit some rural parts of the country through my TV set almost after a month of physically visiting them. Thats when I remembered I never did put up the post I had wanted to.

I noticed rural areas where apart from a few poor farmers, civilisation was non-existent but what showed its presence was rubbish and garbage. Its sensible to come to the conclusion that the roads could have been littered only by those who travel? Why? Why is the only question i have. Why? Why do people want to throw garbage on the way? why cant they carry along a bag and put their rubbish in it and then throw the bag in the dustbin? Its not much trouble. I do it. Its disgusting to see even the "greenery" messed up.

    I'm really getting bugged.

Next time, I am going to try and bring together a group and go clean up the mess myself. Someones got to do it and I dont mind.

    Any volunteers?
